Burgas Airport Welcomes 1.5 Millionth Passenger

Olga Andreevna, who arrived at Burgas Airport on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast Saturday night 22.27 EET from Moscow, turned out to be the airport's 1,500,000th passenger for 2010.

This year Burgas airport welcomed its 1 millionth and 1.5 millionth passenger within one month.

Bulgarian Black Sea South Savors 'Manna' Honey

The seventh yearly manna honey festival kicked off Monday in the southern Bulgarian Black Sea town of Tsarevo.

“Manna” honey is a honey produced by bees not from the nectar of flowers but out of secretions left on leaves by other insects who have eaten on them. It is darker in color, reaching red-brown, and is famous for its nutritional and health qualities and unique taste. Bulgaria's Burgas Airport Welcomes Millionth Passenger

Eileen Nischik, who arrived at Burgas Airport on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast 11.12 EET from Cologne, Germany, turned out to be the airport's one-millionth passenger for 2010.

The 23-year-old German comes with her boyfriend Torsten Dormann to spend a week in Black Sea resort town of Obzor.

The lucky traveler and her friend were serviced in the airport's VIP hall and greeted by the airport director Georgi Chipilski in a special ceremony.

Bourgas will install information tables

Bourgas municipality will install information tables with tourism guide at key positions in the city, announced the head of the municipality direction “Enterprise” Ivelina Strateva.

An administrative map of the respective region will be illustrated on the tables and all of the attractions in Bourgas will be marked on the map.

Except in the city centre, tables will be placed in the resort complexes.

Sand Sculpture Festival in Bourgas

Bulgaria's third Sand Sculpture Festival will be held from the beginning of July until the end of August in the Black Sea city of Bourgas.

The Sand Exhibition's place is the same as last year's – between the tennis courts and horse riding centre, near Park Hotel in the northern part of the Sea Garden Park of Bourgas.

“Circus” is the theme of Sand Sculptures Festival 2010.

Artists from Russia, Ukraine, Latvia and Bulgaria will recreate the Circus Arena in detail.

The Bulgarian movement “Blue Flag” announced that the international jury of the program “Blue Flag” praised 2884 beaches and 627 yacht ports in the northern hemisphere.

The kingdom of the Rhododendron in Strandzha

The eighth festival of the Strandzha Rhododendron gathered over 700 guests, the festival bears the name of the unique for the region shrub, which blossoms in May and June and was accepted as a symbol of the mountain.
The festival takes place ever since 2003 in different parts of the mountain.

Bourgas will host culinary competition “The taste of Bourgas”

Balkan culinary competition called “The taste of the Balkans” will exhibit the best of the national cuisines of Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro. The event will take place form 30 April – 05 May.

Tourism Fair “Your Holiday” Bourgas

Bourgas will host the 9th edition of the tourism fair “Your Holiday” - 2010. The exhibition will take place from 22 – 24 april 2010 in the Home of Cultures “Lukoil Neftohim”, Bourgas. The event is supported by the regional administration in Bourgas, the Ministry of economy and tourism.

For the first time, the event will host a labour fair for the tourism industry. Fam trips to tourism sites in Pomorie, Aitos and natural park Strandja will be organized during the event.
