Bourgas will host culinary competition “The taste of Bourgas”

Balkan culinary competition called “The taste of the Balkans” will exhibit the best of the national cuisines of Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro. The event will take place form 30 April – 05 May.
Some of the best chefs in the world will arrive in Bourgas to answer the ultimate question – “which country can offer the most delicious hospitality”.

Tourism Fair “Your Holiday” Bourgas

Bourgas will host the 9th edition of the tourism fair “Your Holiday” - 2010. The exhibition will take place from 22 – 24 april 2010 in the Home of Cultures “Lukoil Neftohim”, Bourgas. The event is supported by the regional administration in Bourgas, the Ministry of economy and tourism.

For the first time, the event will host a labour fair for the tourism industry. Fam trips to tourism sites in Pomorie, Aitos and natural park Strandja will be organized during the event.

Bourgas has an excellent base for the development of congress tourism

Bourgas municipal considers the opportunity for construction of a congress and festival centre in Bourgas, announced the head of “Tourism” department in the municipal Diyana Kolcheva. According to her the town has a great potential to develop congress tourism, not only because it is a regional centre, but also for its excellent transport connections.

The excavations of the ancient therms in Bourgas are almost completed

After the end of the archaeology season, the ancient therms in the mineral baths nearby Bourgas are almost completely uncovered, announced the municipality. Bulgaria's Black Sea City Burgas with Interactive Tourist Guide

Bulgaria's Black Sea city of Burgas has launched a new interactive tourist guide, which is the first of its type in Bulgaria.

The guide is a project of the Tourism Department of the Burgas Municipality, the regional history museum and the local tourism college.

It is available on the website of the Burgas Tourist Information Center in Bulgarian and English; by the end of October it is also going to have versions in German and Russian. The guide will also be distributed in print at the...

Dance and drums show on the beach in Bourgas

Dance and drums show on the beach in Bourgas will be performed all summer long in Bourgas. The show will take place each Thursday between 8.30 PM – 10 PM. The last show will take place on 6th September. The events are supported by Bourgas municipal, the Ministry of culture and other associations.

Mountain Bike Rally Event in Bansko

Bansko will host a bike rally for the 24th, 25th and 26th July. The race will take place the first two days. The third day is planned as a “fun” day near Dobrinishte.
The participation in the rally will cost 50 BGN and the money will be kept in a trust fund to be invested in the future editions of the rally.
The event is run as a “non profit event” and any funds generated from the event will be used to promote Bansko and the mountain biking in the region.

Bourgas welcomes tourists with attractive night outlook

This summer Bourgas will welcome tourists with an attractive night outlook. Attractive piles with banners are placed on popular sites in the city.

An attractive lighting system is installed, which illuminates the city during the night. The project was completed with funds form resort fees, gathered during the past tourism season.

Bourgas Airport plans to invest 35 million Euro in infrastructure

Karl May, general technical director of “Fraport Twinstar Airport Management” JSC announced that the company will invest 35 million Euro in the infrastructure of Bourgas airport this year. The company plans to execute rehabilitation of the electricity net and to build a system for noise observation. Discovery of an ancient tower proves the 20 centuries history of Burgas

Archeologists discovered the mythical ancient tower featuring in the coat of arms of the city of Burgas, reports Elena Dimitrova for StandartNews.

The find proved that Bourgas has a history of at least 20 centuries.
